ABOUT ME

My name is Sydney Tolmie, I am a sophomore transfer student from Middletown, DE. At the University of Delaware, I am studying Comparative Literature and Psychology. My Comp. Lit major allows me to focus on two areas of language through literature; My concentrations are English and Latin. I enjoy writing, the human mind, and learning about the various aspects of different cultures. I often spend my time exploring and as a result, take copious photographs of the worlds around me. While my only "real" photography experience was a kid's workshop in third grade, I put a great deal of effort into the photos I take -- even with my iPhone.

Course Goals:

I am optimistic that this class will allow me to explore my creative abilities, take quality photographs in various settings, and communicate effectively within the photography realm. Learning how to respond to/critique works appropriately in order to foster productive conversation is something I am particularly excited about as well. A friend has kindly allowed me to use their camera for this class, and I am looking forward to learning how to effectively operate it and edit the photos correctly!
